Enjoying The Convenience of Electric Coolers and 12 Volt Coolers

Electric coolers serve the same purpose as traditional ice boxes - they help keep your beverages and foods cooler than the average room temperature. They come in handy during picnics, beach outings, long road trips and even ballgames. They come in several designs - portable, station based and the combination type. The great thing about electric coolers is they don't need ice to keep the food cold, which means on top of the savings you get, you also get a minimal maintenance, and hassle free equipment that you can take anywhere you go.

Portable electric coolers come with either hard or soft-sided shells. They are often called travel coolers and they typically come with a cigarette-light adapter that you can plug into any car cigarette lighter power source. Aside from this neat way of recharging a portable electric cooler, you can also use an ordinary 12v to 110 AC adaptor which will allow you to plug it into any electric socket, even in hotel rooms. Some even come with a 12v to USB adaptor which you can easily plug into your laptop and other devices. Soft-sided portable 12 volt coolers are more preferred for traveling purposes, because they are lightweight and usually have external pockets where you can put other beverages and other important things such as your cell phone.

Station-based units and combination design electric 12v coolers are usually made of hard shells. These are more economical than mini fridges and they are often put in the basement or in the garage. The station-based units are usually attached directly to the wall. They are not as bulky as a fridge and you can easily turn them off when not in use in order to save on energy.

Combination type electric coolers often have bases that are attached to the wall. They can either be soft or hard-shelled and they can easily be dislodged from the base if you use them as portable units.

Most people would think that electric travel coolers are expensive, but if you try and compare their prices with the average ice coolers, you will get more value for your money. Electric 12v coolers require lesser maintenance and provide more convenience. Also, whatever investment you make on electric coolers will soon be recovered because of the savings you'll get from not buying ice too often.

With advanced technology that most electric coolers now offer, it is no wonder that they are fast becoming popular additions to homes, hotels and even campsites.
